Performing Ensembles

Driven by the Pursuit of Perfection, each of the Newsome Band Program’s performing ensembles is uniquely designed to serve the needs of its students and define expectations.

  • Wolfpack Marching Band

The most visible ensemble, the Wolfpack is an optional performance opportunity where students attend all but one varsity football game and several competitions throughout the fall. The band is comprised of Brass, Woodwind, Percussion and Color Guard students.

  • Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band

Two of Newsome's audition-based concert bands, students are placed in the ensemble that best fits their abilities and the needs of the Band Program.

  • Jazz Ensembles

Comprised of Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II, this is an additional performance opportunity for students seeking to learn the nuanced art of jazz music.

  • Indoor Percussion

Comprised of battery and front ensemble percussion, this award-winning group competes locally, with the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit and nationally, with Winter Guard International.

  • Winter Guard

Competing on its own in the Indoor season, the Newsome Winter Guard is a premier pageantry arts ensemble. They compete in the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit with competitions all over the state of Florida.
